What skill level is required We always do our best to adapt to the group abilities, but this week’s trip is directed to class II / III paddlers who just picked up the sport, for those struggling to solidify their roll on whitewater, those wanting to improve their basic technique… If you don’t yet consider yourself a class IV kayaker but want to become one, this is your trip.

What subjects are covered during lessons?

Reading whitewater, paddle stroke, fear management, safety and rescue, boof and roll technique, edging, pivots & bracing are some of them.

What is the maximum group size?

We only offer 6 spots per tour. We use personalized learning strategies and make sure participants can improve their skills in a secure environment.

How to get there?

To Futaleufu: book a flight to Puerto Montt and then a local jet or ship to Chaiten. We provide group airport shuttles.

How much kayaking to expect?

We generally go for 3-hour sessions twice a day unless combined with a trek or rafting activity.

What is not included?

Flights to Chile and Puerto Montt. Personal kayaking gear (helmet, dry wear, lifejacket, spray skirt)

Tentative Itinerary

Itineraries are speculative, pending skills, water levels and group size.

DAY 1:

· Welcome to FUTALEUFU Chile.

· Arrival to Chaiten Airport at 10:30 am.

· Transfer and check in to Casa de Piedra kayak lodge.

· Boat outfitting and lunch welcome.

· Afternoon paddle down the lower section of the Futaleufu. Macal -> Puerto Ramirez

· Dinner at Casa de Piedra kayak lodge.

DAYS 2 – 6:

· 2 water sessions everyday (We’ll paddle many sections in the Futaleufu, Espolón and the Azul river throughout the week and spend countless hours on the water, working on our skills).

· Afternoon hikes to Futaleufu's most beautiful hidden spots

DAY 7:

· Packing and Futaleufu souvenir shopping in town.

· Last Paddle in the Futa river

· Celebration dinner !

DAY 8:

· Early departure to Chaiten airport

· 10:30 flight to Puerto Montt
